Who We Are

TVC Productions was founded by Michael Johnson. Michael Johnson Jr. is a Vocalist, Violinist, Conductor, Clinician, and Music Educator with over 15 years of experience teaching Music. A native of New London, Ct, Michael received his undergraduate degree from Christopher Newport University and his graduate degree from East Carolina University. Michael has been a member of the James Abbington Church Music Academy at the Hampton University Minister’s Conference, where he participated in the Wendel Whalum recital series. 

As a gospel vocalist and choir director, he has had appointments at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Tabernacle Worship Center, Cornerstone Missionary Baptist Church, and the ECU Gospel Choir. Michael’s mentors in Gospel Music include Earl Bynum, Patrick Riddick, and Kentric Morris. As a trained tenor vocalist, his teachers include Dr. David Sadlier, Dr. Rachel Holland, and Carrol Dashiell. As a violinist, his teachers include Roseanne Lester, Yun Zhang, Dr. Jorge Richter, and Dr. Nicholas Hatt. Michael is currently a teacher for Pitt County Schools, teaching orchestra and choir. Michael also performs violin with the Fayetteville Symphony Orchestra and the Pitt Community Orchestra. Michael also assists in conducting the Pitt Community Orchestra.

Students of Michael have gone to study at various universities like New York University, East Carolina University, North Carolina State Univeristy, the Univeristy of North Carolina at Charlotte, the University of North Carolina at Pembroke, and Pitt Community College.
